Philip Sperling's Obituary
Philip Sperling, age 79, Boynton Beach Florida passed away at West Palm Beach
Trustbridge Inpatient Hospice Center after courageously battling cancer since
November 2019.
Phil was born in The Bronx, New York, and attended DeWitt Clinton High School and
CW Post Long Island University. He graduated with a degree in Business and was the
ultimate entrepreneur starting 2 successful businesses from scratch: PhilMar Auto Parts
Warehouse in New York and Insurance Strategies of the Palm Beaches in Florida. Phil
touched so many lives as an agent and won multiple awards for excellence in
Insurance.
Phil’s greatest loves were his family, football, traveling, Italian food, and enjoying the
people around him.
As an athlete, Phil played football in High School and College. He loved football
throughout his life, watching games and talking football. Attending FAU Football games
gave him great joy.
Phil had a big personality. He loved to talk and could easily make friends everywhere
with his openness and genuine interest in others.
Throughout many travels, Phil and his wife, Bonnie, enjoyed seeing new places: Israel,
California, Mountains, Mexico, Bahamas, Europe, as well as many cruises.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years Bonnie Douglas, Son Jonathan Sperling, Brother-In-Law Dan Marcus, Brother-In-Law David Douglas (Haneysa), Nephew James Marcus
(Lori), Nephew Craig (Karen) Marcus, Nephew Wayne (Rebecca) Marcus, Nephew
Casey Douglas, Nephew Adrian Douglas and Grand Nephew and Grand Nieces. All will
miss him dearly.
Phil is predeceased by his parents, Morris and Fanny Sperling and Sister Sandra
Marcus.
We give special thanks to medical personnel and caregiver Mido for their excellent
treatment. Thanks to friends, family, and neighbors and to Rabbi Steinberg of Temple
Beth Shirah for support to our family.
In lieu of flowers, Donations in Phil’s memory may be made to Temple Beth Shirah of
Boca Raton or Trustbridge Hospice of Palm Beach County.
