Scott Trager's Obituary
Scott Trager, 76, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, in Delray Beach, Florida. Born on September 15, 1949, in Douglaston, New York, Scott lived a full and unforgettable life, marked by music, adventure, resilience, and unwavering authenticity.
Scott is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Trager. He was the cherished son of Sylvia and Robert Trager, whose love and guidance helped shape the independent spirit he carried throughout his life.
A gifted musician, Scott played both guitar and piano. During the late 1970s and early 1980s, he was a member of the New Wave band Von Trigger, performing in clubs and venues throughout California and New York City. Music was more than a passion—it was part of who he was.
Scott was also a successful entrepreneur and the proud owner of Marpat Liquor, a well-known retail store in Flushing, New York. Through hard work and determination, he built a business that reflected his commitment and perseverance.
Over the years, Scott called many places home, including Marin County, California; Park Slope, Brooklyn; Kew Gardens, New York; Floral Park, Long Island; and finally Delray Beach, Florida, where he enjoyed his retirement.
An adventurer at heart, Scott made two cross-country journeys with his beloved dog, Willy, creating memories that he treasured for a lifetime.
Scott found joy in life's simple pleasures—listening to music, appreciating nature, caring for animals, and greeting each morning with a cup of coffee on his lakeside deck while watching the sunrise and reading on his iPad.
He was never afraid to speak his mind. Scott was a rebel, resilient, fiercely independent, and blessed with a heart of gold. He lived life on his own terms—unapologetically, honestly, and with conviction. Beneath his strong exterior was a man who would always be there when it mattered most, offering loyalty, generosity, and unwavering support to those he loved.
Scott leaves behind a legacy of music, courage, laughter, and authenticity. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
May his memory be a blessing, and may the music he loved continue to play in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
