Yvette Gloria Rattner's Obituary
Yvette Gloria Rattner, lovingly known as Gloria to all who knew her, age 84, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away peacefully at home
on March 10, 2026.
Gloria Rattner was born in the Bronx, New York to Sam and Lillian Meltzer. She later raised her family in New City, New York before moving to South Florida. She was the devoted and beloved wife of Edward Rattner for 65 years. High school sweethearts, Gloria and Ed shared a beautiful love story that lasted a lifetime. They were rarely seen without holding hands, laughing together, or showing their affection for one another. He was always her “Butchie,” and the center of her world.
Gloria was a loving mother to Lisa Rattner and her longtime partner Robert Zack, and to Steven Rattner and his wife Jennifer. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of Madison Basford and her husband Brandon, and Samantha Rattner and her fiancé Ryan Gobin. Her granddaughters were the greatest joy of her life, and she spoke of them with constant pride and love.
She is also survived by her brother Mark Meltzer and his wife Julie, as well as cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. Gloria had a gift for friendship and remained close with friends she had known since childhood. She took great joy in the lives of her friends’ children, celebrating their accomplishments as if they were her own.
Gloria was beautiful, funny, and deeply loved. Her kindness was reflected in everyday moments, such as stopping her car in the middle of the road to rescue turtles and carry them safely out of harm’s way. Her life was defined by devotion to the people she loved and by the joy she brought into the lives of others. She will be missed forever.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the caregivers of FirstLight Home Care, especially Nadege Saint Clair, whose loving and compassionate presence brought comfort and dignity to Gloria and became a source of support to our entire family. We are also profoundly grateful to Sorina Galimba, Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner with MorseLife Hospice and Palliative Care, whose extraordinary guidance, wisdom, and constant presence helped carry us through this journey. Special thanks as well to Laura Pinelo Velez, RN with MorseLife Hospice and Palliative Care, whose kindness, dedication, and gentle care made a meaningful difference in Gloria’s final weeks.
